Canton Road Trip

We had a lovely trip yesterday to Canton. The weather was gorgeous and the crowds were moderate, so it was a wonderful day to sift through a flea market. Canton is about 2 hours from where I live, so we left out at 7:00am and got there around 9:00am. I was able to park close by the pavilion so we didn't have to walk very far.
Last month when I was there I ran across the man with all of the potpourri and wreaths. I really wanted one so it was on my list this time. I bought the wreath with apples and cinnamon. I think the name of it is Apple Jack. It smells heavenly. I hung it up in the kitchen on the Hoosier cabinet. It made the whole house smell wonderful.
I found these lovely velvet peonies in a great little shop towards the back of the pavilions. She had these marked at $2.00 ea. After I got home I wished I had bought more of them. They are just lovely. Well, maybe next month she will still have them. I am going to use them on Valentine's day.

Of course I just had to have this lovely rag doll and the tea stained Dream pillow. I have a doll size deacon bench in the kitchen so she will be making a home there.

I love this pastry display. I also saw this last month and wanted one, but I was so loaded down I couldn't tote another thing. I stopped at Laurie Anna's Vintage Home this trip and she was having a wonderful sale, I snagged this cutie at 20% off. It will come in handy during the holidays as well. Laurie also had all of her Christmas merchandise 1/2 off and I bought this great mercury glass candle log with pine cone candles to use next Christmas. Sorry the pictures are not the best. I just cant show you how nice this really is. I have bought several pieces of mercury glass this year and I think it will make a great centerpiece for next year in the living room.

I cant tell you how wonderful her shop is. It was decorated inside and out with so many pretty things. I wanted to just move in and live there. It was quite crowed though and I felt like I didn't get to look at everything. I bought the round silver ornament and then wished I had bought a dozen after I got home with it. I even toyed with the notion of driving back over there today, but I am going to resist and just be happy with what I bought. I will try to go back next month.

This ornament is just so cute!!
I am off to shop in our local thrift stores today. I haven't been in a couple of weeks and need to see if they have any new things I cant live without. I also have a few exchanges to make at Coldwater Creek. My sweet husband surprised me with new clothes this year as well as the china hutch he bought for me.
I have a busy week ahead of me. Later in the week, I am having some surgery, so keep me in your thoughts. I am out the door to get my grocery shopping done so I wont have to worry about that for a few days. Have a wonderful Saturday!
Hugs,
Lorri

Lorri, you have such a knack and great eye for spotting things!

And you will see from my blog I have blatantly pinched your idea about an indoor wreath - I wasn't ready to part with my one yet and thanks to our chilly weather in Northern Ireland it is still fresh enough for a few pine-and-apple days indoors!!

Will keep you in our family prayers today and for the rest of the week.

In love & friendship

Lorrie - Haven't been to Roundtop yet, but we have a plan... We live about 15 east of San Antonio off IH10 - farming/ranching community. We do go to Wimberly Trade Days several times a year.. I posted my last trip on my blog in early December. Wimberly is just southwest of San Marcos.

Taylor Swift.. my new favorite.. I think she's a cross between Dolly & Emmy Lou from my generation. I just love her.. she's such a talented young woman! Thanks for stopping by. Let me know if you want to know more about Wimberly...

Thank you for leaving a comment on my 100th post because:
1. you are now officially entered in my giveaway drawing and
2. I was able to find YOU!

I envy you bloggers who live so close to Canton! That is a spot I dream of going to, but it's pretty far from where I live (MO). I have several "dealer" friends who do attend those shows every now and then--they always find wonderful items--just like YOU did! Thanks for sharing your treasures--good luck with your surgery.
I'll announce the winner next Sat.! Dana
