We are saddened this morning to read in the paper that Coy's Steakhouse burned to the ground Friday morning.
Coy's Steakhouse was an icon in Hot Spring's Arkansas. It had been in business since 1945. This restaurant has won numerous awards for serving the best steaks in Arkansas and had received many wonderful reviews. It was a very interesting old building filled with antiques and catered to the Oaklawn racing crowds. We always ate there on our trips to the HOG bike rally in the fall and usually a few other visits throughout the year. My sister and I took our sons this past July and enjoyed a wonderful steak Oscar! They were famous for a special salad dressing they served. When you were seated, the waitress would bring out a warmed sleeve of saltine crackers in a metal container with a cruet of the homemade dressing. YUM!
Our trips to the area will never be the same. Hopefully they will rebuild and come back stronger than ever.

Isn't it such a shame when things like this happen, especially to places which hold such happy memories. I hope you are right, and that this just clears the way for an even better version of your old favourite!
Oh Lorri, this is so sad.
The way you described the Steak Oscar and the special salad dressing sounds delish. I really want to have steak instead of chicken tonight now.
Thanks for being a part of my sweet little world. I really appreciate you. Happy Sunday.

What a shame that had to happen, to loose such a great place. To have been around for so many years, and then just gone. Does not seem possible some times or fair... I hope they rebuild. Their steaks sound very yummy....

Hopefully they will rebuild such a nice place. That happened here with the Golden Corral. The Veterans always ate there.
I hate to hear that... :(
Thanks for stopping by my blog...I'm very please to discover yours.
