Sunday Dinner

I am in the kitchen again, creating a scrumptious Sunday meal for the kids! I found a huge roast on sale this week, so I am cooking it in my cast iron dutch oven, smothered in onions. I am making a batch of homemade rolls, mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy and homemade macaroni and cheese. All of my kids favorite comfort foods. I made a killer Pecan Pie, hopefully there will be enough left for everyone to have a piece. If you have not made my Texas pecan pie, you really should try it. Recipe is in the archives.

I am hoping to spend the afternoon, working on my next project. Friday ,I ripped all of the wallpaper and border off the walls in the entryway. I need to spackle the holes and roll on some texture, so I can paint. I have two colors that I am going to experiment with. The entry is very tiny so I do not want it really dark. But,of course you know I always gravitate towards red! I am thinking about painting the bottom half red and the top half a cream color. Then I will have to put some molding on the walls. This will require some carpentry skills, so that may take a bit of time to accomplish. I still have some decorating to do in the bedroom, but the finished project will be posted soon.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am not looking forward to going back to work on Monday. But it will go by fast I hope! This next week is Canton weekend and I am planning a trip there on Friday. My daughter is planning on going with me so I am sure it will be a great time. Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon!

I wish I could crash your dinner.

I made pasta figoli soup and it is hearty and good. I have homemade bread in the oven but its not ready yet.

I talked to Ashley about the Sisters thing and she loved the idea! We are going to start looking for a trailer!

I so badly need to repaper the bedroom and bathroom. First I have to finish all my other projects before I can start another.

Be sure to give us some before and after photos. I think red sounds good.

Oh Lorri that meal sounds to die for!! My stomach was grumbling when you mentioned what you were cooking. Dang. If I pay you will you come cook for me sometime? Lol! I am feeling so much better today. Whatever it was I had was TERRIBLE. I never coughed so much in my life (also had no energy whatsoever). I think I even cracked a rib coughing so much. Ugh. It's nice to be back though. :) Hope you had a great weekend! Sounds like you did!

There's nothing more fun, than spreading love all over your table for a houseful of family. I think it's therapy for us when we do it, it fills us up with so much joy and love...but I'm thankful too, that I don't have to do it everyday!
Your menu sounds delish....we ALL wish we had been invited!

Hi Lorri!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog....I look forward to seeing you on Friday!

I posted a map on my blog so you can find our locations! The store has more to offer than the booth, but I hope you'll enjoy them both!
