I had to laugh when I saw this house! About 2 miles up the road from me is this very house! The door is red with white trim. The only difference is the shutters. The house near me has wood shutters that have the same trim as the door. I have never really thought much about the house, but in this picture there is a certain charm to it. A Leave It To Beaver quality that I always find myself attracted to. And then I began to notice several neighborhoods with many houses from this era.
Little known fact: I really wanted nothing more in life than to be June Cleaver! I wanted the little white picket fence house, manicured yard, and to be a stay at home, pie baking mother. I wanted my children to come home from school to a kitchen filled with the smell of fresh baked cookies. And to know the security of not being left at home alone. Knowing that when they arrived home, love and happiness filled the house they lived in.
What were your dreams?

I love retro homes from the 50s and 60s. Bob does not. My dream ends.
I would have loved being a stay at home mom but that would have led to homeschooling which would not have been a great idea for Ashley. She needed to be around her friends.
The house I remember growing up was built in the 1950's. It was a three bedroom ranch. All I ever dreamed of was having a home, cleaning it, and a couple of kids. I got what i wished for! I am among the few out there who actually like to clean!
