Movie Monday!

This is an older movie, but I still love to watch it. Late last night we popped it in and watched it again. I love the cat and mouse game that is played out by the characters in the movie. He is a wealthy business man who is bored with life and plans a very detailed operation to steal a priceless Monet painting. The bounty hunter(Russo) is hard and fast on his trail to recover the stolen artwork at all costs. She plays a very intelligent detective who finds the stolen art, but falls in love with him in the end. It is a fast pace movie and I think you will like it! Enjoy!

Movie Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We went riding on the motorcycle and enjoyed the cooler temperatures.
Over the weekend, I rented the movie Grey Gardens. Many of you may remember the original documentary that was filmed in the 1970's about Edith Beale and her daughter. The movie, starts out showing the film crew making the documentary and then skips back and forth between the past and present. Edith Beale was the aunt of Jackie Kennedy. She fell on hard times after her husband walked out on her. She resided in a very exclusive neighborhood in the east Hamptons. The house quickly fell into disrepair and without any money to fix it, the city moved in to evict her. When they arrived, there were 75 cats, raccoons and various other "pets" in the house. Edith lived in total squalor with her daughter who seemed to live in the past. Little Edie had dreams of becoming an actress and could not get past the fact that she did not have the talent to make it big. Edith vowed to never leave her home and at the last minute Jackie stepped in with a clean up crew to get the house back in shape. When Edith died, little Edie did sell the house and was able to buy an apartment to live in.

I have mixed feelings about this show. While it is interesting to watch. I couldnt help feeling disturbed by this woman and her inability to break free from the fantasy world she lived in. It seemed to me that both women lived a wasted life. Let me know what you think.

Pennies From Heaven

I was cleaning house this morning and listening to some 40"s Big Band music when Pennies From Heaven started to play. It made me think if little blessings are like pennies, and we add them all up. It really starts to amount to something. All of those little things like a great parking spot, a $1 off coupon on an item you need or maybe a sale on your favorite perfume. All of those things are little blessings from above. Created to make your life easier, just a little blessing from our Father who loves you! When we stop to think about all of the small things we are blessed with, it really inspires me! Look around today and see what blessings you have!
Hugs

It's My Birthday!

It was a good day. My hubby sent me 2 dozen wonderful roses and a beautiful card with money!! I got a manicure and pedicure from Gina, money from my mother and tons of cards and text messages. We are all going out tomorrow night to eat sushi for dinner, and all of my kiddos will be there! So it was a great day in spite of having to work. My boss took me out to lunch at Johnny Carino's. We shared the italian chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert.
Hope your day was just as wonderful!

Fields of Lavender

A Blog Award

First summer session is now over and I am diving headlong into second summer session. I wish all of the semesters were 5 weeks long. I really feel like I get alot accomplished in the summer.
I am so sorry that I have fallen behind on my blogging. I have been busy with work and school. My grandson is here for a short visit and I am trying to catch up with him. Hope you have a great day!
HUGS!
