My Daughters Christmas tree

Here is a picture of my daughter's christmas tree this year. She always decorates her tree with just Santa ornaments and some bling mixed in. I love her tree, it is so cheerful!

What a Day!!

We had such a wonderful day today. My belated Thanksgiving dinner turned out very well. All the children came over and everyone had plenty to eat. I have alot of leftovers, so I suppose we will be eating them for a few days at least.

I have plans this week to start my Christmas decorating. I did put some things out on the porch and hung the Christmas wreaths. Most of my decorations are still at my other home and I have to take the truck over to get them. So I expect to start my decorating in earnest on Thursday. Tomorrow is the beginning of another work week for me!

This weekend we went to Canton Texas for 1st Monday flea market sales. I bought several new things for the house and was really inspired by some of the cute decorations. I forgot my camera, so do not have any pictures to share of the trip. Sorry! I am planning to go back again after the holidays, so that I can purchase some new things for the house. Every room needs to be updated, so there will be plenty to share.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Sunday Dinner

Every Sunday our kids come to dinner at our house. We always look forward to them coming. We have 7 kids between us, so it makes for quite a crowd in our little house. Today, I made turkey, dressing and the fixins, since I worked on Thanksgiving day. Hope it will taste as good as it smells! Have a restful and peaceful Sunday afternoon. I am looking forward to a nap this afternoon!

Since I have to work on Thanksgiving, wishing everyone a very special holiday.

End Of A Perfect Day!

Today, I spent the majority of the day with my husband. He is getting ready for a hunting trip and took the day off to be with me. Tonight, I sauteed mushrooms, grilled some steak, and made a terrific salad. We opened a bottle of wine and enjoyed a nice fire in the yard pit.

I wanted to start a new blog that reflected me and my dreams for this new home of mine. I left behind a Tudor style cottage and have moved into my new home which is a 1980's ranch style house which has not been updated at all. In other words it is all original to the home, right down to the orange counter tops! I am sure it will take me many months to decorate to my taste and make this new space my own. Fortunately, I have a wonderful husband who is very supportive of my changes.

I have bought many new magazines, trying to glean some ideas for the spaces that need it most. We are going to focus on the master bedroom first. I have plans to paint the room a very neutral color and add splashes of color through the drapes and bed coverlet. I have some nice pieces of furniture that I own and will use them in this room. I plan to post some before and after photos soon, because this room is horrible!!!
I will be working on this new blog and posting soon!
